Weddings at Linden Place, Bristol, RI | Cait & John’s Linden Place Wedding. A photographer's dream
I’m obsessed with New England history, like, a little too much.
Anyone who engages me on the subject almost immediately regrets it because I’m like a hot volcano filled with molten dorky anecdotes. Open the subject and I erupt.
When I shoot weddings at some of the older venues, particularly the mansions of Newport and Bristol, it’s as close as I can get to seeing them as they were meant to be seen by their original builders and owners. They are beautifully decorated, with waitstaff passing champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and filled with people dressed to impress. I try to imagine all of the individuals over the years who have danced through those ballrooms, it’s like a sweet mille-feuille made of layered stories.
Linden Place really let’s you interact with it’s history because much of the building is available for a couple’s use, and the rooms are filled with original art and furniture. This includes the private quarters where Cait got ready. Cait’s florals and color scheme were absolutely the perfect compliment to Linden Place’s beauty, and I definitely overheard several guests gasp with delight when they arrived! We had a bit of rain, but I never mind a dramatic stormy sky.
An excellent team of vendors made the day absolutely perfect!
