Aleksa & Wil's Bristol Rhode Island Engagement

Shooting romantic portraits at sunsets is something I ALWAYS look forward to. After all, the golden hour is every photographer's happy hour! There's never really a 'bad time' to take couple portraits, but sunset photos have a charm of their own. And oh, the dreamy, breathtaking colors! My couple, Aleksa and Wil's engagement session in Bristol, Rhode Island, was a treat to photograph. Gorgeous views, a stunning sunset, and a couple completely in love - I had everything going for me. They were so much fun and were up for anything, even if it meant changing clothes in their car!

Aleksa and Wil are getting married in Newport this summer and are looking forward to it. In fact, they might be the most excited couple I've seen in years, and that was enough to turn up my excitement too. With a variety of scenery as well as a cute little town with cobblestone walkways and amazing architecture, Bristol is a great spot for engagement pictures. The cherry on top was how incredibly photogenic and relaxed my couple was. They just focused on having fun and enjoying each other’s company. They were so happy and comfortable with each other that I just knew we were going to get some stellar engagement photos!

As if the engagement photos weren't cute enough already, Aleksa and Wil also brought their pup to the session, and of course, their furry companion was just as photogenic as the couple. Another family member supporting and cheering for my couple was Wil's brother. He had accompanied my couple to the location, and I ended up turning him into my assistant for the shoot. I had him hold my lights in place for sunset shots, and he was such a sport about it.

The sky went all orange during the sunset and made for a gorgeous backdrop for the engagement photos. I was so into the shoot that I didn't even notice that my camera bag had fallen over at some point and money started blowing away. It was crazy! But moments like these add an element of fun and make the shoots more memorable for me.
