Mommy & Me Photo Shoot at Gooseberry Beach

I think all parents would attest to this: Kids grow up so fast. And even though your kid will forever be your baby, you might soon find yourself missing that cute babbling and those tender hands, that even though tiny, fit perfectly with yours. And this is why I love offering mommy and me shoots! Not only are they a perfect way to document those fleeting moments as beautiful photos, but they are also a great opportunity for you to just have a memorable day with your little one. I love bringing out the unique bond between the kids and their mommies through my images, and when the location is as incredible as Gooseberry Beach, the fun doubles automatically!

Mommy & Me Photo Shoot

On the day of our session, even before I reached the beach, I was looking forward to meeting the two girls - mommy and her little one. The mom was a past bride of mine, and I had shot her wedding at the Linden Place in Bristol, Rhode Island. When she came back to have a session with her daughter, I was super excited! As a photographer, I love connecting with my clients, and it's a wonderful feeling when they come back to me for another shoot. I enjoy the fact that they think of me when they think of documenting special moments in their lives. And most of all, it's a pleasure for me to see them go from a couple to a family!

My models arrived at Gooseberry Beach in white outfits, and we did this shoot under the late afternoon sun. The little girl, who was extremely photogenic and thoroughly enjoying the session, was without a doubt one of the best younger models that I've had the pleasure to work with. Whether it was her solo portraits or the ones with her mom, she was always smiling and giggling. It's not always easy to photograph the young ones, but I have been lucky enough that even most of my little ones are in a good mood when they arrive for the shoot. 

One thing is for sure, the little girl was completely in love with her mommy and vice versa. She just couldn't get enough of her mom's cheeks, and the photos are proof! There was so much love and a strong bond between these two, and my aim was to capture that during our session. My models were all about having fun and loved dipping their feet in the water, and especially the little one simply couldn't get enough of rolling around in the sand! As if she wasn't adorable enough already, the little one then brought out her flower tiara, which instantly transformed her into a princess!
