Candid Family Photo Session at the Playground

My heart swells with love and happiness when I photograph families and the love and bond they share. I am especially proud of all the little ones I've photographed and eternally grateful for the amount of patience they had for me. They are essentially the ones who taught me that I am able to photograph my young models best when they are genuinely happy at that moment. As much as I love meeting new people through my profession, it’s always a joy to be photographing my past clients and their growing families. And that's exactly what I felt once again while photographing one of my past couples with their little girl, Presley (named after my couple's love for Elvis). We did this shoot in a playground in Providence, Rhode Island, and it was so much fun!

For me, my past clients hiring me for another shoot is like proof that I am doing my job well! I was actually the engagement and the wedding photographer for this particular couple. And when they came back to me, asking for a family shoot with their daughter, I said yes instantly! I was beyond excited for this session and loved the idea of being in a playground for the shoot. 

Since it can get tricky to reason with three-year-olds and convince them to sit or even stand still for photos, my couple was looking for a non-traditional session that they and their daughter could enjoy. And that's how this venue came into the picture. The more enjoyable it is for kids, the better their mood, and the happier the pictures - simple formula. At the playground, Presley just did what any other kid her age would do - played around and had fun! Since the playground was essentially her paradise, there was not a single moment where she looked bored. The lively colors and exciting shapes at the location doubled up as great backdrops for the pictures. And Presley was a perfect little model. She was chirpy, cheerful, and playful throughout. Going up and down the slides, she enjoyed her outing, and I loved photographing her. 

The little one's leopard-printed shoes and belt matched with her mom's top, and that was just super adorable. After taking Presley's solo portraits, I photographed her with her parents. They helped her around the swings, took a stroll with her in the park, and then just sat on a rock cuddling and playing with her. They're such a beautiful family, and every moment I spent with them was so heartwarming.

This candid family photo session was so much fun, and I loved spending time with my couple and their little girl. Also, I really admire and appreciate all the efforts my couple put into this session - be it choosing a location or dressing up their little one. Thank you two for choosing me as your photographer once again! I look forward to many more such fun sessions in the future.
