Plourd Family Portraits At Colt State Park
Family photography always fills my heart with so much joy & contentment. Witnessing the lovely bond that family members share, the fun they have with each other, and the way they express their happiness about being in each other’s company is just priceless! The bonus for me is getting to photograph a big family. Not only do I get to witness some real and genuine emotions but also have the opportunity to compose a wide variety of shots with different groups of family members, each showcasing the beauty of a particular bond and relationship. I got this chance again when I did a photo session with the Plourd family at the very beautiful Colt State Park. Ideal for spending a fun-filled day with the family, this park didn’t just have the perfect picnic spots to unwind in the lap of nature but also offered ample picturesque nooks and corners ideal for outdoor photography. And, with a lovely family like the Plourds and an open, expansive location at my disposal, I got some of the most amazing family portraits - just how I had envisioned!

Lush green spaces, cherubic kids, a gurgle of laughter, a family celebrating each other, and a bunch of happy images - this pretty much sums up my family session with the Plourds. It was a beautiful day, and the Plourd family showed up in perfectly coordinated outfits for the shoot. I can’t really express how much I appreciate and admire my clients each time they put in so much effort to make their photo sessions count. When it came to the Plourd family, they not only chose a nice, rich color palette to keep their attire in sync with the scenery around but also dressed the little munchkins in matching prints and colors. So adorable! It was such a treat to watch the toddlers as they added a pop of color to the images and also raised the cuteness quotient of the photos taken. The little ones enjoyed their time with the family and even rolled in the mud while playing - only to get those cute muddy knees and bums. I also photographed the little ones as they had their hands full, trying to carry around some orange pumpkins. The pictures came out as sweet as some pumpkin pudding! And the velvety green meadows at Colt State Park made for a perfect backdrop for the family portraits, while the farm fences and the horses in the background rendered a lovely rustic charm to the images.
I have been photographing these families (cousins) individually every year, but this shoot was for everyone together - and I loved the idea of including the grandparents in this session. In my opinion, it could sometimes just be an easy option to not include the elder generation during such photo sessions, but these photos become much cherished possessions over time and make for a beautiful way to recollect the happy times spent together with the people who love you dearly and form the roots of your family. So, I utilized this opportunity to create some lovely grandparents-grandkids portraits, and the results were incredible! I also took fun portraits of the younger couples and got some great photos.
